SIGNAL IDUNA Poland

SIGNAL IDUNA subsidiary starts private health insurance in Poland

SIGNAL IDUNA Polska Towarzystwo Ubezpieczen S.A., Warsaw, a subsidiary company of the SIGNAL IDUNA Group, Dortmund/Hamburg, has introduced a private health insurance tariff in Poland. SIGNAL IDUNA provides outpatient and - as the first insurer in the country - inpatient services. It is also possible to purchase group contracts. "Our offer is aimed in particular at employers who wish to bind their employees to their company and provide them and their family members with good medical care", says Reinhold Schulte, President of the Boards of Directors of SIGNAL IDUNA Group.

Contrary to the German system, SIGNAL IDUNA does not primarily refund costs, but also guarantees medical services to its clients. It has therefore concluded inpatient agreements with private clinics and hospitals, which treat SIGNAL IDUNA patients. Precisely defined and commonly performed operations are covered, among others cataract, thyroid and the removal of the gallbladder. SIGNAL IDUNA offers three different levels of inpatient care. Outpatient services can be combined  with the inpatient care. Our partner is LUX MED, who offers health care services in Poland and ensures access to doctors as well as to its own and contracted clinics. The services range from family doctor benefits in their basic version to specialist and dental care. The clients of SIGNAL IDUNA can choose among six different levels.

With its new class of insurance SIGNAL IDUNA Poland compensates the shortfalls of the Polish health care system, which is often considered underfinanced. Long waiting periods for medical services are frequent - in the case of some operations even up to several years. The advantage for privately insured patients: They receive a high standard of medical services.
